ABOUT THE DATABASEThe mission of this database is to function as a practical forum for information about Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. It is free-of-charge and is useful for public administration, business life, academic world, and civil societies. It is not allowed to copy any parts of the material to another server or website. However, feel free to link our database to your own link lists or use it for any non-commercial purposes respecting our copyrights. The database includes basic information about and concise analyses on the respective countries' macro and micro economics, political and administrative systems as well as many other fields and issues. It includes comprehensive link lists of the respective countries' officials and agencies, social organisations, legislative data, research institutes etc. An extensive thematic map library is part of the database. The Finnish National Fund for Research and Development (Sitra) has financed the pilot phase of this database. Dozens of specialists from different countries have participated in producing the information available on the database. The permanent network of institutions behind the database include: LTT Research Ltd and Center for Markets in Transition, Helsinki School of Economics Nordregio - Nordic Centre for Spatial Development, Stockholm The database is one of the databases belonging to a wider Advisory Network for the Northern Dimension.
